PTE Test Format

1. Speaking and Writing (77 – 93 minutes)

   • Personal Introduction: Candidates are required to introduce themselves in a brief manner.
   • Read Aloud: Candidates read a short text aloud.
   • Repeat Sentence: Candidates listen to a sentence and repeat it accurately.
   • Describe Image: Candidates are presented with an image and are required to describe it within a given time frame.
   • Re-Tell Lecture: Candidates listen to a lecture and then summarize it in their own words.
   • Answer Short Question: Candidates respond to questions with a brief answer.

2. Reading (32 – 41 minutes)

   • Multiple Choice, Choose Single Answer: Candidates read a passage and select the correct answer from multiple options.
   • Multiple Choice, Choose Multiple Answers: Candidates choose more than one correct response to a question.
   • Re-order Paragraphs: Candidates rearrange paragraphs to form a coherent text.
   • Fill in the Blanks: Candidates fill in the missing words in a passage.
   • Multiple Choice, Choose Single Answer (Reading): Candidates select the correct answer to a question based on a reading passage.

3. Listening (45 – 57 minutes)

   • Summarize Spoken Text: Candidates listen to an audio recording and summarize it in writing.
   • Multiple Choice, Choose Multiple Answers (Listening): Candidates select multiple correct responses based on an audio recording.
   • Fill in the Blanks (Listening): Candidates fill in the missing words in a transcript of an audio recording.
   • Highlight Correct Summary: Candidates select the summary that best reflects the main points of an audio recording.
   • Multiple Choice, Choose Single Answer (Listening): Candidates select the correct answer to a question based on an audio recording.
   • Select Missing Word: Candidates select the word that completes a recording.

4. Optional Break (10 minutes)A scheduled break between the reading and listening sections.
